Fourth crack at HM, this time with non-removable helmet, and in the 13" DC Deluxe scale. Lex Luthor base body.
Helmet combination of leather and sculpting. Wings somewhat posable, completely handmade (feather application takes forever, and leaves you with crusty glue fingers).
Outfit and boots handmade, but bootsoles are lifted from a DCD figure.
Custom order using DCD's 13" figure as base. Costume hand-sewn, sword outsourced from Monkey Depot, some facial re-painting, replaced DCD weird feet with heeled shoes.
Second crack at Hawkman in the 12" scale. Everything hand made on this one: helmet, wings, mace, boots and costume. Wings are bendable but only gently.
He's up on Ebay if anyone's interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130449452011
Gambit uses Aquaman 13" DCD as base. Hair re-sculpted, paint etc. Costume handmade with pleather, spandex and molded bits for the metal detailing on vest.
Rogue uses Power Girl 13" DCD as base. Wig is combined from two, costume handmade with latex and pleather.
Mera 13" custom. Used Black Canaray 13" from DCD as base, removed plastic hair and wigged. Tiara is handmade. Costume hand-sewn based on Silver Age design. Flippers were a pain to get right but she can stand easily on her own. Trident is Aquaman's.
Third go at classic Iron Man, this time again in the 13" format. Red armour is real leather, with a molding process that I use to get it to show musculature detail of the body. Lex Luther 13" from DCD is the base; didn't do much repainting for his face since mask will hide it most of the time. Helmet is hand sculpted. This figure takes about 3 times the work and time of the other figures, so might be the last Iron man I do.
First Legionnaire, but will do more. PG is the standard brunette Otaku female base body with no repainting. Costume is stretchable vinyl, belt custom-made based on art from the 70s. Otaku body comes with sculpted nipples and camel toe (wtf?), so some judicious sanding to keep the figure looking a little less porn-doll.
13" scale Nightcrawler, using the Robin body as base. Head is a shaved-down, re-painted Aquaman, but still looks a little large to my eye. Costume a mix of pleather and spandex. Feet, tail and hands were re-purposed from the Marvel 12" figure --helluva time getting them attached, but they're articulated and sized right.
Another go at Iron Man in 13" scale. Used DC Deluxe Lex Luthor as base, with sculpting to create back half of helmet. Faceplate stays on with help from ear pieces. Outfit leather, with gold spandex and sculpted armour pieces (Sculpey).
Custom order using Triad for a base body. The torso was a little skinny, so built it up with strips of foam to build up musculature. Everything hand-made: Molded leather for the armour, molded helmet and face plate.
